At the IIC Industrial IOT Summer Conference in Niskayuna, New York it was great to see the kinds of test beds and standards being layed down this industry needs to succeed. It was also very interesting to see the overlap in the infra-stucture and technology with the retail and consumer applications.
From the perspective of Umajin it was good to see how important the mobile device is becoming to connect the edge (devices) and big data (the cloud services). We worked with Tego to demonstrate their amazing high capacity RFID tags which can be used in very rugged conditions on machine parts – which can then be read and written by apps running on your smartphone powered by Umajin.
